Together, X and Spider destroy Jango, freeing Central Tower from the Rebellion. X is overpowered by Jango, but the wounded Spider arrives as backup. X rushes to the Command Room to defuse the bomb, then heads for the helipad to stop Jango's escape. However, Wild Jango contacts Chief R and X, showing he has beaten Spider and set a time bomb in Central Tower. After listening to X explain Aile's sacrifice, Spider is touched and decides to help instead, moving to keep guards busy. Spider then ambushes X, knocking Aile's ID loose. Meanwhile, the Rebellion boss in Central Tower, Wild Jango, discusses payment with Spider for X's defeat. Rebellion guards arrive, and Aile self-destructs to let X escape. Aile gives X his ID to allow entry to Chief R in the Governor's Precinct. X enters Central Tower and meets Aile, a member of the Resistance. After a scuffle, alarms go off, so X and Spider flee in different directions. He introduces himself as a bounty hunter who plans to turn X over to the Rebellion. However, the Reploid is suddenly destroyed by a stranger named Spider. On his way to Central Tower, X is approached by a rowdy Reploid who reported him to the Rebellion. X contacts Colonel Redips to inform him of Shadow's betrayal, but the transmission cuts out before he can receive instructions, so he decides to free Chief R. X learns that the Resistance leader, Chief R, is a hostage in the Central Tower. A Reploid explains that it's a hideout for the Resistance, a small movement fighting the Rebellion Army's control of Giga City. Epsilon stops Ferham from giving chase, aware that X will return. Now alone, X has no choice but to leap into a chasm below. Zero rushes Epsilon, but is sent flying off the ruins by the cadre's attacks. The Rebellion cadre - Scarface, Botos, and Ferham - appears, and the Hunters realize they've been led into an ambush. They move to arrest Epsilon, but Shadow turns on them, revealing his true allegiance to the Rebellion Army. X and Zero reunite near the top, where they fight and destroy Hippopressor.Ĭlimbing the roof, X and Zero find Shadow facing Epsilon. The trio are separated by a mysterious explosion, and continue towards the top of the structure. X, Zero, and Shadow teleport to the outskirts of Giga City to investigate an energy reading in the Lagrano Ruins. Ġ7 October 2008 Chapter 1: Infiltrate Giga City! If they failed the mission, the Federation would have no choice but to declare war on Giga City. As a last shot at peace, Colonel Redips deployed a smaller team of X, Zero, and Shadow to arrest Epsilon and quell the insurrection. A large team of Maverick Hunters was sent after them, but the Rebellion subdued them all. This Rebellion Army and its leader, Epsilon, banished all humans and demanded that the Federation recognize Giga City as an independent Reploid state. Suddenly, a band of renegade Reploids launched a rebellion in Giga City. The Federation established Giga City, an artificial island near the meteorite, to mine, smelt, and research Force Metal. Technology based on the metal revolutionized Reploid engineering. In the year 22XX AD, a powerful mineral known as Force Metal was discovered in a meteor that landed in the Pacific Ocean.
